How to Configure CyberDuck to Access an AWS S3 Bucket

Purpose: To guide users on how to configure Cyberduck application to access AWS S3 Bucket.

Prerequisite: AWS S3 Bucket access, and Cyberduck application installation required.

Audience: AWS S3 Bucket users.

 

1. Configure Cyberduck to access an AWS S3 Bucket.

 

info.png If you've recently been issued a secret key and access key to an S3 bucket, this guide will outline how to use those credentials to access the bucket.

  1. Download and Install CyberDuck.

    info.png NOTE: If the compare feature is needed please use version 8.5.2 as the latest version, the compare feature is not working at this time).

  2. Open the CyberDuck application.
  3. Click the plus sign (+) in the bottom-left corner to add a bookmark.



  4. Click the top drop-down menu and select Amazon S3.
  5. Ensure the server field contains this exact text: s3.amazonaws.com.
  6. Add your Access Key ID.
  7. Add your Secret Access Key.
  8. Expand the More Options section in the bottom-left corner.
  9. In the Path section, remove the forward slash and add the path of your bucket. This path was provided in the same email containing your access keys.
  10. Close the settings window.

  11. Double-click the bookmark to connect.

12. S3 Default Storage Class should be set to Standard Storage.
