Note : Mac clients — Outlook for Mac 2016 or later- You MUST use Legacy mode for Mac Outlook to sync email and fully utilize Amazon WorkMail. The new Outlook mode currently lacks support for Amazon WorkMail profile configuration and features. Switching to legacy mode allows you to set up a complete Amazon WorkMail profile with syncing, sending, and receiving capabilities.
Setup OA Email In Outlook Manually Using IMAP Settings
OA Email server has Auto discover option enabled, you should be prompted to enter your OA account password. If you're redirected to a Microsoft page instead of the Windows Security Outlook prompt (Image below), follow the steps below to add OA email manually using IMAP settings.
1. Open the Outlook application on your computer
2. Navigate to the File Tab
3. In the Info section, click the + Add Account button
4. A popup window appears, enter your Originals Access email address and click on Advanced options and select Let me set up my account manually
5. Select IMAP
6. Enter in below details for Incoming mail:
Server: imap.mail.us-west-2.awsapps.com
Port: 993
Encryption Method: SSL/TLS
Select/Check Mark: Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) option
7. Enter in below details for Outgoing mail:
Server: smtp.mail.us-west-2.awsapps.com
Port: 465
Encryption Method: SSL/TLS
Select/Check Mark: Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) option
8. Click on Next
9. Enter in Password for you OA account and click on Connect
10. Restart Outlook to see your newly added Originals Access mailbox on the left side column.
