1.2 Drag-and-Drop Support
Faspex supports file and folder drag and drop for transfer, but this support varies by platform and browser.

2. Logging into Aspera for the first time
New users are set up to log into Aspera via Single-Sign-On (SSO) method using the Originals Access (Okta) account. New Aspera user account is created when the user logs into Aspera for the first time using the Originals Access account. Follow the instructions below to log into Aspera for the first time:
1. Activate the Originals Access Account by following the instructions, here.
2. In the Originals Access dashboard, click the icon for applicable Aspera instance under My Apps.
3. Click the 'Okta' button below Alternative logins to access Aspera (Do not log in by entering the username/password).
4. If prompted as shown below, install the required extension by clicking 'Install extension' and the latest version of IBM Aspera Connect by clicking 'Install Connect' or following the instructions, here. Click 'I'll skip for now' to close this popup window.
Note: Aspera Faspex 5.0 requires IBM Aspera Connect version 4.1.3 or higher to upload and download packages.
3. Logging Into Aspera Faspex
- Users whose account was created in Aspera Faspex v4 and logged in by entering the Username and Password must login using the same method.
- Users whose account was newly created or logged in using the SSO method in Aspera Faspex v4 should login using the SSO method following the steps below:
- Login using the "Okta" Button (Please do not log in using the username/password box) Note: the button may say 'Okta', instead depending on the Aspera instance.
2. If prompted, Install IBM Aspera Connect
- You must have Connect 4.1.3 or higher installed to transfer packages using Faspex
- Please, click here to download and install the latest version of IBM Aspera Connect
- If you install Connect, refresh your browser to start using Connect
Please note: If you do not have the IBM Aspera Connect application/extension installed, you will not be able to upload or download.
