Purpose: This guide provides a step-by-step instruction on how to upgrade to the latest version of IBM Aspera Connect. Requirement: Aspera Faspex 5.0 requires IBM Aspera Connect version 4.1.3 or higher. Audience: Aspera Users |
1. Checking your version of Connect
1. Open your IBM Aspera Connect, click icon at top right corner, and About.
2. The version of the IBM Aspera connect installed on your computer is listed there.
Aspera Faspex 5.0 requires IBM Aspera Connect version 4.1.3 or higher.
2. Upgrading to the latest version of IBM Aspera Connect
1. Download the latest version of IBM Aspera Connect by clicking here and selecting the applicable Operating System as shown below. Once the link/button is pressed, the installation package will start to download.
2. Open the installation package and click 'Continue' in the Introduction section.
3. Click 'Continue' and then 'Agree' in the License section.
4. In Destination Select section, choose the installation destination and click 'Continue'. By default, we recommend just leaving it as is and clicking 'Continue.'
5. In Installation Type section, click 'Install' to proceed. At this stage, if you have Aspera, it may prompt you to close the application and proceed with installation.
Note: if there's additional security built-into your computer, it may ask for additional password to proceed with installation.
Note: if there are prompts like the one shown below to allow access files in your Downloads folder, click 'OK.'
6. Once the installation is completed, you will see the below window. Click 'Close' to exit the installation and open IBM Aspera Connect. Follow the instruction in 1. Checking your version of Connect section above to confirm the installed version of the Aspera Connect.
