Purpose: To guide users on how to move or copy entire folders containing assets. Prerequisite: Requires Flow Capture account with share access to the Folder. Audience: Flow Capture users. |
Moving or copying entire folders containing assets works in much the same way, with the key distinction being that the user moving or copying the folder must determine whether or not they want to allow for users access to be maintained.
If you wish to move or copy a folder and the assets within it from one place to another, simply click on the folder you want to move, and drag it to it's new location.
Note: If you drag and drop a folder onto another folder, the folder you drag will become a subfolder of the destination folder.
If you want to move an existing subfolder so that it becomes a top level folder, you can drag it onto the Production name, and it will then be a top level folder under that production.
Once you've dragged the folder to it's desired destination, you'll be presented with a pop up requiring you to confirm two options:
1. Move or Copy - You can select to either move the folder from it's current location to it's new location, or you can select to copy that folder, leaving a copy where it is as well as creating a in the new location
2. Copy folder access - When moving or copying, you can determine whether you want to just move the folder and assets themselves, or if you want to also move the folder access along with it.
-
- Note that if you select to copy folder access, users will have the same level of access to this folder once it's moved
- If you do NOT select to copy folder access, the users will no longer have the same level of access. The access will now be determined by any inherited access or permissions, and they can be adjusted as you would any other folder
- Note that any Playlinks that have been sent from the folder you're moving will only retain access for those recipients if you select to copy folder access, as "Playlinks" is a folder-based access permission type, granted to a user whenever they receive a Playlink.
